Gin Rummy is a rummy type game where the player or team who wins 100 points first wins the game. Gin Rummy can be played by 2 to 4 players, individually or in teams of 2.
Card Values
Aces are worth 1 point. Face cards are worth 10 points. All other cards are worth their number values.
Gin Rummy is played with a standard deck of 52 cards. Each player is dealt a hand of 10 cards. The rest of the deck becomes the draw pile.
To begin play, a card is played from the draw pile face up. On their turn, each player may either pick up the last card played face up on the table or draw a card from the draw pile.
Players attempt to collect melds in their hand. There are two types of meld:
At the end of their turn, they must play one card from their hand onto the table. This can be any card.
On their turn, a player can end the round by 'knocking', provided that their unmatched cards (called deadwood) are worth less than 10 points. Both players expose their hands and the knocker's opponent may add their unmatched cards to the knocker's runs and sets.
If the draw pile is exhausted, the discarded cards are shuffled and used to make a fresh draw pile.
The players compare the value of their deadwood based upon the card values mentioned above. If the knocker's total is lower, the knocker scores the difference between the two values. If their opponent's total is equal or lower, this is called being undercut and the opponent scores the difference plus 10 points.
Knocking when holding no unmatched cards is called 'going gin'. This scores a bonus of 20 points, plus the value of their opponent's unmatched cards.
Whoever reaches 100 points first wins. The target can also be set to 75, 150, 200 and 250 points.

Points
Players determine a set amount of points when the game ends.
Rounds
Players determine a set amount of rounds (also known as hands or deals) that the game will go to (instead of the points selection above).
Timer
Players only have a set amount of time to make their turn after which a turn is automatically played for them and the game proceeds: Fast is 7 seconds, Standard is 15 seconds, Slow is 30 seconds, and Very Slow is 60 seconds. Players can also choose to disable the timer, but that is only for private tables.
Hollywood
When enabled, players play three games simultaneously instead of one.
Loser Deals
When enabled, the loser of the previous round deals the next hand (as opposed to rotating the dealer).
Deal 11th Card
When enabled, players will start with 11 cards instead of 10, meaning they will have to discard one card for their first turn.
Knock Limit
The value of deadwood permitted when a player knocks can be changed to 0, 5, 10, 15 or 20 points.
Going Gin
The bonus for going gin can be set to 15, 20 or 25 points.
Undercut
The bonus for undercutting the knocker can be set to 10, 15, 20 or 25 points.
Gin off
Penalty for getting undercut with a gin, that is if the opponent has no deadwood when you knockedclose.
Knock card
When enabled, the knock card determines the knock limit for the round. Ace means you have to gin, it will still use the minimum of this value and the knock limit you have set.
Double points
When enabled, players receive double points for their hand.
Box Bonus
The bonus points scored for each round won can be set to 15, 20 or 25 points, or disabled entirely.
Bonus boxes
The bonus points scored for each round won can be set to 15, 20 or 25 points, or disabled entirely.
Roodles
When enabled for a team game, players receive additional boxes for the team when all players in the team win the hand.
Game Bonus (boxes)
When enabled, extra boxes are awarded to the winner at the end of the game. If your box bonus is 25, 10 boxes would mean 250 game bonus points.
Game Points Bonus
The bonus points awarded to the winner of the game can be set to 25, 50, 100 or 200 points, or disabled entirely.
Winner gets bonus game points for winning the game, in other words, loser is penalized game points for losing the game.
Big Gin
When enabled, players receive a bonus if all cards in their hand when knocking are matching, including the card just drawn. The bonus for this variation can be set to 6 or 11 points, or disabled entirely.
A deck of cards consists of 52 cards, with 4 distinctive subgroups. Each of these subgroups is recognised by a symbol and are referred to as suits. They consist of Clubs, Spades, Hearts and Diamonds. Each suit contains 13 cards which, generally, are considered in this order, Ace (A), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jacks (J), Queen (Q) and King (K). Some games include the two Jokers found in a standard deck but most games don't.
